SUSSEX comes under the spotlight in a new ten-part series.

The Sussex Coast Series debuted on September 26 on YouTube and has already released two episodes.

The series follows presenters Charlie Shakespeare, Lizzie Burder and Sam Peterson on a road trip along the coast.

The first episode saw the trio start in Portsmouth, in neighbouring Hampshire and over the course of the series they will visit Chichester, Bognor, Littlehampton and Arundel.

There are then three episodes in Brighton before the trio continue east through Newhaven, Eastbourne, Bexhill, finally finishing in Hastings.

During the adventure they will use various transport methods to explore the towns and cities they visit.

From miniature railways and cars, other novel ways of seeing the city include flying with the South Coast Flying Group, taking a ride on the Brighton Zipwire and BMX riding in Hastings.

The group also went to see lots of popular tourist destinations throughout the county.

Over the course of the ten episodes Charlie, Lizzie and Sam volunteered at Brighton restaurants to explore the rise in popularity of veganism in the city, met some important LGBT figures around Brighton and a Hastings woman who has made artificial flowers for theatre, television shows, films and even royalty.

They also visited Arundel Castle, saw the Earnley

Butterfly Farm and went to Eastbourne’s Redoubt Fortress.

Sam said: “We had such a great time filming along the Sussex Coast.

“The best thing for me was getting to drive a miniature train. But we got to experience so many awesome things along the way.”

Lizzie said: “I’d heard of the places and had even been to a lot of them before, but never knew how much there was to see.

“My highlights have to be flying in the aeroplane and seeing the beautiful gardens at Arundel Castle.”

New episodes of the Sussex Coast Series are released every Thursday on the VisitVideos YouTube channel.

Previous episodes are also available to view.
