A CELEBRANCY course is coming to Alloa this week for anyone looking to have a change of career.

Celebrant ceremonies are for those who are looking for a more personal service either with or without a religious background.

The course is for those who are interested in becoming celebrants and is being held by Independent Ceremonies in association with the Scottish Independent Celebrants Association (SICA).

The event is taking place at Inglewood House in Alloa on Sunday, October 27.

Lasting half a day, the course is the perfect starting point for anyone with an interest in becoming a professional celebrant. Covering what’s involved, what it’s like and what it takes, the course provides a comprehensive introduction to a career in celebrancy.

The course will be taken by experience local celebrant Susan Fraser, who was seven years of experience as a celebrant and was also an assistant registrar for 10 years.

Susan said: “I love being an independent celebrant, it really is the best job in the world.

“It is different every day, and it gives you a real opportunity to do something wonderful for other people.

“I am looking forward to sharing my experience of celebrancy with those who are interested in taking a step towards this exciting career.”

The course includes different workshops, including working as a celebrant, services and ceremonies and how to find work.

A light lunch is also included, as well as an invitation to attend the SICA AGM in the afternoon to meet working celebrants from across Scotland.

The course costs £55 and can be booked via Eventbrite.
