THERE were dramatic scenes in Dollar over the weekend as emergency services rushed to the town to rescue a dog trapped in a gorge.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were alerted to the stranded animal during the afternoon of Sunday, October 13.
The organisation has since confirmed that the dog was successfully rescued later the same day.
A spokesperson for the SFRS told the Advertiser: “We were alerted at 2.04pm to reports of a dog trapped down a gorge in Dollar, Clackmannanshire.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and specialist resources to allow firefighters to gain access to the dog, which was 30 feet down the gorge.
“The dog was recovered with the use of a rescue harness.”
