A WEE COUNTY singing group is on a high after taking part in a musical competition in Ireland earlier this month.
The Hillfoot Harmony Chorus – a female a capella group based in Dollar – travelled to Killarney for the Irish Association of Barbershop Singers' annual convention.
The event was attended by choruses from all parts of Ireland and the UK, and after a lot of hard work and practice, the Hillfoots group placed fifth in the international class.
One group member said they were "delighted" with the result, and mentioned they were now looking to build on their success and recruit some new members with an event later this month.
Entitled Love to Sing, the event is being hosted by the professional singer, conductor and voice coach Andy McTaggart.
It will feature a mix of contemporary and classical music, and all are welcome to attend.
The event will be held at the Gibson Auditorium at Dollar Academy on Saturday, October 26 from 1.30pm-5.30pm.
