ALLOA'S Alman Dramatic Club is gearing up for its latest production: a fresh interpretation of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol.

The group – which celebrated its eightieth year in existence this year _ will bring the production to the Coach House Theatre in late November and early December.

The Alman's adaption was created by club chairperson Senga Awlson and her cousin, the accomplished Sauchie actor John Stahl – who has appeared in Game of Thrones.

Senga said: "From the very first read-through I knew that the club members were really enthusiastic about the chance to be a part of our own Christmas Carol.

"But believe me, it is daunting, yet so exciting, to watch the cast breathe life into the action and capture the full range of emotions contained in Dickens' wonderful story.

"Audiences can look forward to a colourful production with special effects and Christmas carols."

The show is aimed at adults and children aged 10 and over, and the production will run from November 26 until December 7.
