THE Stirling Rock Choir treated Wee County residents to a wonderful performance over the weekend.

Clackmannanshire Community Council hosted the choir to Clackmannan Parish Church last Sunday, November 3.

The entry fee was any donation possible, with all proceeds going towards the Clackmannan senior citizens Christmas lunch and other community events.

Helen White, a member of the community council, was thrilled with both the performance and the turnout.

Helen said: "It was an absolutely fantastic day. The choir were excellent."

There was no target amount but Helen believes that the donations made by the visitors has surpassed £500, which she says will go a long way towards paying for the Christmas lunch.

Doors opened at 2pm and the church quickly filled up with locals eager to hear the choir.

Helen added: "It was a very successful afternoon and thankfully nobody was put off by the horrible weather.

"The attendance was even better than we anticipated. Everybody who came really enjoyed the performance as well as the tea and biscuits on offer.

"This is the third Rock Choir performance I've seen and the group just gets better and better."
