LUKE GRAHAM has officially kickstarted his re-election campaign for the upcoming General Election.

Mr Graham, who has been Ochil and South Perthshire’s parliamentary representative for the Conservative party since 2017, will be aiming to keep hold of the seat he took from the SNP's Tasmina Ahmed-Sheik at the election just two years ago.

The ballot will be held on December 12, with Lorna Robertson representing Labour and John Nicolson running for SNP.

Mr Graham has outlined his campaign, which he says is running on two key themes: “Sorting Brexit and standing against a second Independence referendum.”

The candidate argues that he has a strong parliamentary record, voting in 93 per cent of votes in the House of Commons.

After his campaign launch, he said: “This election is a cross-road for Scotland.

"It provides us the opportunity to put the division that has soured our country since 2014 behind us, and it’s this choice that I will be campaigning on: sorting Brexit and saying no to any more divisive referendums.

“Scotland and the entire UK needs to move forward.”

He also highlighted some of his actions during his time as the MP, including his role in the multi-million pound cash injection for the constituency as part of the city deal.

Mr Graham added: “Of course, there is so much more I want to do.

“I want to push to reform our drug laws to tackle the drugs death crisis and build on the additional £1.2bn coming to the Scottish Parliament to rebuild education.”

Mr Graham reiterated his future ambitions, saying: ”I hope the people re-elect me so we can move past Brexit and divisive referenda and deliver locally, to make Ochil and South Perthshire and Scotland to be the best place to live in the United Kingdom.”
