Two people have been left injured in hospital after a car crashed while "fleeing from police" in Castlemilk.

Officers say another two people have been arrested following the incident, which took place earlier this afternoon.

They were hunting for a car in Castlemilk which they eventually traced on Carmunock Road in Croftfoot.

But the car failed to stop, later crashing into another vehicle on Holmlea Road. 

Police have since launched an investigation.

A spokesman for the force confirmed: "At around 1.50pm on Friday, November 15, enquiries were ongoing to trace a car in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow.

"The car was located in the Carmunnock Road area of Croftfoot, however, it failed to stop.

"Officers stood down and the car collided with another vehicle a short time later on Holmlea Road at Ruel Street and two occupants of the car were arrested.

"Two people were taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

“Enquires into the circumstances surrounding this incident are continuing.”
