TILLICOULTRY is set to bask in a festive glow after the official switching on of Christmas lights this weekend.
There are hopes for a good turnout of residents when the switch on event goes ahead on Sunday, November 24, from 5pm to 6pm at Murray Square.
People heading along will be entertained by the children’s choir from Alba Performing Arts School as well as the Clackmannan District Brass Band.
Free refreshments will be on offer in The Annex, generously provided by Tillicoultry Baptist Church, Tillycoeur and the Tilly Tearoom.
The fundraising Tilly Ladies will also bring their Christmas Lights Pop-Up Shop while Santa is also set to make an appearance with the opportunity for children to have their picture taken with him.
The event is being organised by Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside Community Council and is being supported by Tillicoultry Baptist Church, the Tilly Ladies Christmas Lights Appeal, Tilly Tearoom and the Tillycoeur Twinning Association.
Thanks go to EDF for vital financial support.
Damian Sherwood-Johnson, chair of the community council, said: “We really hope to see a good crowd at this event.
“Our volunteer community councillors have done a great job to make this a fantastic evening which builds upon the success of previous years."
