ALLOA'S Alman Dramatic Club have enjoyed another successful production with their rendition of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas Carol.

Performances took place at the Coach House Theatre between November 26-December 7.

Speaking to the Advertiser mid-way through the production, the Alman's artistic director, Gerry Docherty, said: "It's a very popular play, written by our chair, Senga Awlson, and her cousin John Stahl.

"He's a professional actor from Sauchie, who's been in Game of Thrones.

"The two of them got their heads together and wrote a version of A Christmas Carol which's going down a treat.

"It's been a lot of fun for audiences and actors – it's a big cast."

Keen to get youngsters involved, the Alman also invited around 15 first year pupils from Alloa Academy to stop by and view their dress rehearsal.

But work won't be stopping once the latest production finishes.

When asked about what the Alman has planned for the near future, Gerry said: "We're going to be holding a Burns Supper in Inglewood Hotel on January 24.

"And our next production will be Whisky Galore, a truly Scottish comedy."
