AN ALLOA hairdresser has marked 30 years of business by giving their first ever client a makeover.

Rhona McCallum and her team of stylists celebrated in style after reaching the huge milestone – and are even offering customers a discount as a sweetener.

The award-winning salon opened on Saturday, December 7, for a drop-in day which included bubbly, bucks fizz and cupcakes for friends and family.

Rhona and her team wined and dined at the River House in Stirling, kicking off their 30th anniversary with a celebratory meal.

After opening the salon in the Inglewood area of Alloa in 1989, it moved in 1993 to bigger premises with a town centre location. It is now based on Bank Street in Alloa.

Over the years, Rhona has created a successful, steadily-growing family business and multi-award winning hair and beauty salon.

Speaking to the Advertiser, she said: "My amazing team of stylists, which I am immensely proud of, is what makes the salon what it is today.

"They all put in 100 per cent to the customer's care and are dedicated to each and every client that walks through our door."

To top off the celebrations, Rhona managed to track down her first client that walked through her salon door more than 30 years ago.

Treating her to a complimentary makeover, Claire Miller was given a special makeover at the store during their drop-in day.

Claire, who was just 13-years-old at the time of the first appointment all those years ago, was looked after by Rhona herself, who re-cut her hair into a shoulder-length bob and freshened up the colour.

The makeover was completed with a conditioning glossing treatment – much to Claire's delight.

Rhona said: "Claire was absolutely delighted to be invited in for her makeover and help with the celebrations.

"She said afterwards that she loves her new hair colour and shorter hair style, which is more fashionable and will be a lot more easier to manage."

As the business continues to grow, Rhona has also built a brand new website to coincide with the celebrations, which can be visited at rhonamccallum.co.uk

There is also an opportunity for customers to get involved in the celebrations, with a 10 per cent voucher which can be found in the Love Local magazine distributed throughout Clackmannanshire.
