THERE was a big turnout and smiles all round at Wimpy Park Community Group's Story with Santa event in Alloa last week.
Held at the Bowmar Centre on the evening of Friday, December 13, the event saw youngsters enjoy Christmas songs, a Christmas story, and a visit from Father Christmas himself.
The group's Mark Mitchell told the Advertiser: "[The event was for] younger kids up to age eight.
"They had a kid's story time, and we had Santa who gave out presents and then they had a snowball fight.
"We had parents there as well, so it was a good family activity.
"There were about 85 kids, but each one of them probably had about two people with them [parents or guardians].
"They loved it, every one of them.
"I haven't seen any bad feedback at all – they all had fun."
After the Story with Santa event had finished, the group then put on a disco for older children – which again enjoyed a good turnout.
Throughout the evening, the Clax 1400 group kept everyone fed and watered with their tuck shop.
And the Tillicoultry-based shop The Works helped out too, by offering the Wimpy Park Community Group some big discounts on the presents handed out by Santa.
