THE community came together at a Tullibody school last week to mark the festive season.

It was the first time the Christmas celebrations were held at the new Tullibody South Campus building for Abercromby Primary School when people arrived for the Cakes and Carols event on Friday, December 13.

Headteacher Mrs Aileen Ferguson organised the event, which took place at the new and larger assembly hall.

More space meant that more parents could fit in at the one time and indeed, they turned out in numbers to watch the young people perform.

The children sang a variety of festive tunes, gaining a boost in confidence with successful performances on stage in front of a large audience.

They also wore Christmas jumpers and attire on the day to add that extra festive touch and the well-attended event received positive feedback from parents and carers who went along.

People in the audience also had the chance to try some home baking with a cuppa.

The school explained everyone enjoyed a lovely afternoon together at the new building, which opened its gates at the start of the academic year earlier in August.

Thanks were given to all who came along and supported the event.

Plans are to hold the Cakes and Carols event again next year as well.
