ALLOA TOWN HALL was filled once again as Sauchie Community Group held its annual Christmas Extravaganza.

Attendees flooded to the town hall on Saturday, December 21 to see a whole host of performances.

A packed line-up included returning favourites such as Craig Miller, X-Factor star Andrea Wilson, Just Dance, Susan Chown, Michael Morrison, Clackmannan District Brass Band performing Christmas carols and the Sauchie Community Group Choir.

Also on stage was singing sensation Leona Hens, musician Sheila McRobert, Donald Cowan, Alastair Faulkner and Ben Hughes.

Craig Miller, who helped organise the event as well as performing in it, was absolutely delighted with the night.

He told the Advertiser: "The Christmas Extravaganza was a huge success. We raised about £5,000 and sold around 400 tickets.

"It was a great night with everyone now in the Christmas spirit."

After all the money was counted, Craig revealed a whopping £5874.15 was raised, around £2,000 more than in the previous year.

Last year the event was held in November, however this year it was held in late December as it was the only time the group could book the hall.

Despite the change of date, it seemed to work in the group's favour as Craig thinks being closer to Christmas really helped the turnout this year.

Furthermore, the show already has a stellar reputation in the Wee County and attendees know they are in for a treat.

On behalf of everyone involved with the organisation of the show, Craig was keen to give thanks to all those who took part.

He said: "I want to thank everyone who came along and the cast and the crew for their performances and the audience for their support."

Although the plans for next year will begin in the new year, Craig was adamant everyone will be taking a well-earned break before they get ready for the next show.

The Sauchie Community Group are involved in a number of projects throughout the area and all the money raised will help their extension fund.
