A BID to bring a small community cinema into a Hillfoots town is progressing.
The people behind the Cochrane Hall in Alva are hoping to secure a projector and screen to expand the facilities and so the community can come together and be entertained.
Alva Development Trust, which runs the venue, has recently given thanks to Co-op customers for choosing to support the cause at their local story through the Community Fund.
More than £70 had been raised with more money rolling in at the time of writing.
The trust explained that there is a demand for cinema facilities, where movies can be screened at a low cost, as shown in its Community Action Plan Report.
A statement added: “This project will address local needs, promote wellbeing and help prevent isolation.
“The project will help foster the concept of community cohesion and we have plans to link with other groups.”
Co-op members can support the good cause.
