A TILLICOULTY man caught with a blade stuffed down his sock has been admonished after turning his life around.

Gregor McHarg, of High Street, was even praised by a sheriff for the progress he had made when he appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 9.

The 28-year-old was found to be carrying a knife while walking down Hill Street in Tillicoultry on March 13 last year.

His sentencing had previously been deferred for several months by Sheriff David Mackie, to allow him to be of good behaviour.

And last week, solicitor Greg Cunningham claimed his client had got to grips with a previous drug problem, and was in full-time employment.

Sheriff Pino di Emidio noted the "positive report" of McHarg's progress, and then admonished him.
