A SCHOOL in the Wee County last week received a funding boost.

Members of the Rotary Club of Alloa were delighted to hand over a cheque for £1,000 to children and staff at Lochies School.

The money came from proceeds of Santa at Sterling, where Rotary volunteers ran a grotto, collecting donations at the Tillicoultry store.

P7 pupil and school vice-captain Robert Alexander is pictured receiving the donation from Geoff Storer, president-elect at Alloa Rotary.

Also pictured are pupils Ayla Koseoglu, Logan Forbes and Cooper Keen, along with Rotarians Willie Crystal and Lindsey Spowage.

Three local families who assist children and other families will also each receive £1,000, raised by the Rotary at the Santa's grotto.
