DRUGS worth more than £1,000 were taken off the streets following a raid in Alva last week.

Police executed a drugs warrant at Craighorn Road address in the Hillfoots town on the morning of last Thursday, January 23.

Amphetamine and herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of £1,200, were recovered by officers.

A male was held in custody following the raid and it is understood he was reported to the procurator fiscal for being concerned in the supply of controlled substances.

Police say the execution of the warrant was successful thanks to information and intelligence received from members of the public.
