JAMIE POLLOCK has unveiled his debut single ahead of a three-date UK tour in the spring.

The Alloa singer-songwriter has released These Times as he begins his foray as a solo artist.

He told The Weekender: "It was a song I started writing a couple of years ago, but it was never quite right. But one night I sat down and it all came to me. I re-wrote the chorus and we got it recorded.

"It was a bit of a starting point for me. I've got that bug back again; I've started writing songs and they are sounding good."

Recorded in the Wee County's own Boathouse Studios, the tune marks Pollock's first solo effort since leaving Vida in November last year.

He added: "People will say it does sound like a Vida song, but I can't really get away from that. It's my voice and that's how I sing and how I write.

"But it's sounding really like a single, and I'm sure it will go down well."

Pollock also announced a trio of gigs in March, with shows in London and Manchester, on the 6th and 7th, respectively.

He will also be playing at King Tut's in Glasgow on March 28.
