THE BB was a big presence at Stirling’s bowling alley last week as two age groups held their annual competitions.

On Saturday, the Junior Section gathered for their tournament with a fun morning of competition and new friendships being made.

The winning lane (team of 6) was from 25th Stirling (Dunblane), whose team got the highest total points on the day.

On Thursday, the older boys in Company Section and Seniors got together for a bit more serious competition (with the barriers down) with 60 taking part.

In the P7/S1 competition, first place went to Ryan Johnston (Dunblane), with Hugh Blair (St Ninians) runner-up and Archie Crossley (Dunblane) in third.

The seniors’ competition was won by Alan Hunter (Alloa) with Shawn Cooper and Campbell Tully (both Dunblane) taking silver and bronze respectively.

Overall, the team trophy went to Dunblane with highest average score in their top six players.

Event organiser, Fraser Boyd, said: “Our BB events provide a whole range of Opportunities for friendly – and serious – competition and fellowship across the year but bowling is always one of our most popular events with the boys.

"It was great to have over 100 boys at these two events and I congratulate everyone for taking part. Thanks to the AMF staff for hosting us so well.”
