CLACKS Council’s Sports Development team recently hosted this year’s Clackmannanshire Primary School Sports Association P5-P7 Netball Festival at Alloa Academy.

The non-competitive netball festival is designed to help promote netball for everyone. The event was focussed on giving performers the opportunity to try netball in a stress-free and enjoyable setting.

An outstanding number of entries for this year’s festival saw a total of 27 teams taking part, made up of 188 P5-P7 pupils from 17 primary schools across the Wee County.

The games were played in a round robin format across the event and the 27 teams were split into groups with games being played across five courts.

A high standard of sportsmanship combined with enthusiastic players putting in outstanding team performances was on display from all the schools involved.

Regular sports development netball classes will take place at Alloa Academy from 5-6pm every Thursday starting on Thursday, February 20 at £4.10 per class.
