TRAINS have been cancelled between Alloa and Stirling due to flooding on the line.

Today’s hevy rain has led to cancellations by ScotRail when the 12.44 from Alloa to Glasgow was started at Stirling instead.

The 13.44 also never arrived in Alloa at the time of writing while ScotRail has now confirmed the 14.44 and 15.44 services from Alloa to Stirling and on to Glasgow will also be cancelled.

Further alterations can be expected on the way to Glasgow as well, the rail company advising that service delays and revisions are possible.

There are also reports of flooding at Larbert and for safety reasons, trains will run at a reduced speed there.

The ScotRail website said: “Staff are on-site monitoring the flooding and will advise when it is safe to run trains again.”

The disruption is expected to carry on into the evening.

Elsewhere, the line is closed between Stirling and Perth due to flooding while for the same reasons, trains between Linlithgow and Edinburgh Park are running at a reduced speed.

According to ScotRail, people who already purchased tickets should be able to use some local bus services to complete their journeys.
