IT IS HOPED the community in Muckhart will once again come together next weekend and help raise funds for the local primary school.

The Coronation Hall will play host to a Soup & Sweet Lunch, organised by Muckhart Primary School Parent Council following previous successful events.

Organisers are hoping to bring together people of all ages during what is promised to be a lovely warm and friendly occasion.

As always, there will be delicious homemade soups, desserts and a brilliant atmosphere.

Stalls with home bakes, children's bric-a-brac, hamper raffles for both young and old will add to the offering.

All funds raised will go to the school in the village and will be used to support the children there by giving them access to opportunities and resources otherwise not possible.

The upcoming Soup & Sweet Lunch at the Coronation Hall in Muckhart will go ahead at 12noon on Saturday, March 7, lasting for two hours.

Everyone is welcome, an adult lunch which includes a brew as well is £5 and £3 for children.

The parent council's previous events had been roaring successes, last October more than 60litres of soup was served up with funds raised exceeding expectations when more than £1,200 was collected.

And it truly brought the community together, including residents and carers at Balhousie Care Home in Rumbling Bridge.
