ALLOA'S Round Table have announced that more than £7,000 has been donated to local community groups, charities and sports clubs in Clackmannanshire.

The money was raised by the members of Alloa Round Table through fundraising and organising local events such as the upcoming Alloa Half Marathon and last year's Sparks in the Park.

John Dornan said: "This amazing sum of money is being put into Clackmannanshire to help those in need, to help our kids thrive and to better our communities.

"This is only possible because of the outstanding support we get from local people at Round Table events such as Sparks in the Park and the Alloa Half Marathon."

Men aged between 18 and 45 from around Alloa are being encouraged to get involved with a round table meeting this month, with gents who wish to join a local table can go along to their first meeting for free.

The group welcomes men from any profession or trade and encourages the promotion of friendship amongst young men, and to encourage each individual to make a positive impact in his community.
