FOREFRONT Stage School recently took a trip to Disneyland in what has been described by their principal as "an experience of a lifetime."

Performers from the academy, which is based on Mar Street in Alloa, travelled to Disneyland Paris on February 21 for a weekend after impressing in their audition submission.

The school sent three audition pieces to Disney in April last year and were told three or four weeks later that they had been accepted to perform in France.

The trip was organised through Perform in the Magic, a company which gives amateur dance or singing groups the chance to perform on a Disney stage.

Forefront principal Amber Rennie took the 24 kids over and told the Advertiser just how magical the trip was.

Amber said: "It was really good, the kids made amazing memories. It was an experience of a lifetime."

Despite a lot of the group having been to Disneyland Paris before – one girl had been seven times prior – none have had the opportunity to perform there.

More amazingly, one 15-year-old in the group had never been on a plane before so she had a huge new experience before she even landed in Paris.

Amber told how the girls soaked up all the park had to offer, enjoying the amusement parks, having breakfast at Plaza Garden with Disney favourites Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Tigger, Eeyore and Daisy and Donald Duck and also having dinner in the rainforest café.

She added: "We were the only ones performing, there were other kids from Forefront who were on holiday so they were in the audience.

"Hopefully, we will do it again."

The Videopolis theatre where the group performed also has a restaurant with a capacity of around 600, so it was a huge opportunity for the youngsters to showcase all the skills developed while at Forefront and perform on a huge stage.
