THE number of people with Coronavirus in Forth Valley has tripled since yesterday.

The Scottish Government’s latest update shows the number of people who have tested positive for the virus, also known as COVID-19, has tripled from two to six since their figures were last updated.

Figures show the total cases across the country have almost doubled, from 36 yesterday to 60 today.

A total of 2,892 tests have now been completed, with 2,832 confirmed negative.

Speaking at Holyrood earlier today, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that gatherings of more than 500 people may be banned from next Monday amid the latest outbreak of the virus.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include high temperature or fever, cough and shortness of breath.
