GENEROUS people from Muckhart were once again brought together by the community spirit for a "lovely" fundraiser supporting the local primary school.

The Soup & Sweet event, which is becoming a well-established occasion in the village, was organised by Muckhart Primary Parent Council and recently went ahead at the Coronation Hall earlier this month.

Thanks go to everyone who helped make it a success by donation puddings, bakes and raffle prizes while naturally, there was plenty of soup on offer.

The event raised a fantastic £850, which will be used to continue to support the young people at the school by providing essential resources and experiences otherwise not possible.

A special thank you goes to the school's Mrs Peden, art teacher, for her effort and hard work with the children to create an outstanding display of their art work, which was put on display on the day to be enjoyed by all guests.

Becky Graham, one of the organisers, said: "The children absolutely love their art tuition with Mrs Peden and we are exceedingly fortunate to have her as part of our Muckhart family.

"Huge thanks also to Lorraine Sanda, chief education officer at Clackmannanshire Council, for taking the time out of her busy schedule to join us for lunch."

She added: "Once again a huge thank you to our lovely community and surrounding areas for yet again coming out in full force to rally around in support of our fantastic village school.

"We are extremely grateful.

"It's always gives so much pleasure to look out into the beautiful Coronation Hall of Muckhart and see people of all ages being brought together over a bowl of soup."
