THE Alva Games have been cancelled this year as yet another public event falls victim to coronavirus.
This year's games, scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 11, have been cancelled and will return next year.
Craig Dunbar, secretary for the games, said: "After careful consideration of all of the medical advice made available by the Scottish Government, and being mindful of our obligations to the wider community, the decision ultimately came to be an unavoidable one.
"We appreciate that this decision will be deeply disappointing to all of our supporters, we feel equally sure that everyone will understand why the committee reached this view."
The committee will now turn their attention to the preparations for next year's games, which will take place on Saturday, July 10, 2021 and promises to be extra special.
