TWO parked police cars were allegedly hit with a hammer during a late-night raid.
The two motors have since been taken off the road for repair after the vandalism, which took place outside the police station in Church Street in Johnstone just after midnight on Saturday.
Police say they arrested a 28-year-old man at Elderslie Golf Club who allegedly had a hammer and three knives.
He was due to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court.
