A POLICE investigation is underway after an attempted break-in at a premises in Tillicoultry.
Two individuals tried to make their way in through a side door to the Bridge Inn hotel and bar between the night of Monday, April 6 and early hours of Tuesday, April 7.
One person working at the High Street premises told the Advertiser there were two attempts to enter the building during that period, as the two individuals "went away and came back".
Though the two individuals did not get in, the staff member described the incident as "devastating" - particularly as it happened amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Police Scotland has confirmed it is now looking into the incident.
A spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of an attempted break-in at premises on the High Street in Tillicoultry shortly after 11am on Tuesday, 7 April.
"The incident happened overnight between Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7.
"Enquiries are ongoing and at an early stage. Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident 0993 of April 7, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
