THIS year's Dollar Open Gardens has gone virtual amid the coronavirus lockdown.

While organisers are disappointed they are unable to open up some of the town's most beautiful places, hosts have created online short films to showcase the best Dollar has to offer.

And like in previous instances, the annual initiative is raising much-needed funds for Strathcarron Hospice so it can continue its end-of-life services for families.

The videos are available on the Dollar Community Development Trust website.

Rebecca McFarlane, development officer at the trust, told the Advertiser last week: "Dollar Community Development Trust were delighted when the garden hosts, who would have been opening up their gardens to the public this weekend, agreed to produce some short films showing off their hard work.

"Dollar Open Gardens is always a big event for the town and it's great to be able to still share the beautiful and impressive gardens with the wider community, despite the circumstances.

"We would like to thank everyone involved and we hope as many people as possible are still able to enjoy them."
