AN ALLOA man's fundraising online music project continues to hit the right notes for a range of worthy causes.

As previously reported, Alloa guitarist Iain "The Gator" Donald has brought together a wide range of talent in a bid to lift people's spirits during the coronavirus lockdown while securing money for a variety of groups in the area.

One charity set to benefit is local Play Alloa, while the funds raised will also help Home-Start Stirling and the Falkirk and District Association for Mental Health.

The latter was in the spotlight between May 18 and 24 as musicians helped mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

The live-streamed music project, which people can follow on the Covid-19 Local Charity Support page on Facebook, has raised more than £2,200 to date.

Local musician Kieran Fisher, who recently featured in The Weekender, Ian Simpson, Steven Kemp, Greg Breen and Douglas Campbell have all joined the bill since.

There have been regular online concerts with a variety of artists from the local area and further afield and even Lewis Capaldi encouraged people to donate when he dialled on on the stream of his brother Warren.

Iain told the Advertiser: "I'm so chuffed for it, but more than anything I'm very grateful for my friends that have helped me."

A nod of appreciation goes to Greig Taylor for putting the word out in areas beyond the Wee County and Natalia Garbacz for translating everything to get the Polish community involved as well.
