A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being found in the River Forth this morning.

Police were made aware of concerns for a person after a vehicle was found abandoned at Clackmannanshire Bridge at around 6.25am today (Wednesday, May 27).

A police spokesperson said: "A man was found in the River Forth a short time later and was returned to the shore by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with the aid of HM Coastguard.

"He was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment."

Both the Clackmannanshire and Kincardine Bridges were closed for a short period, while emergency services worked to locate the man.
