TUI’s Holiday Store in Alloa has permanently closed down.
The company confirmed that its premise at 65 Mill Street will not be reopening, having been shut since lockdown started.
The Advertiser asked the company how many jobs will be affected, but was simply told that staff will be offered roles at different locations “where possible”.
A spokesperson for the company said: “We can confirm that TUI's Alloa store is now permanently closed and we would like to thank our retail colleagues for all their hard work.
“This is a continual process to ensure we’re evolving our business and ensure our stores are in the right places and we’ll continue to open, close and relocate stores.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to become more effective and efficient and where possible staff will be offered roles in other nearby stores.”
The Alloa premise was used by people looking to book holidays, get advice about travelling abroad and to sort travel money.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is currently advising people in the UK to avoid “all but essential international travel” as a result of the current coronavirus pandemic.
And anyone currently travelling abroad has been “strongly advised to return” to the UK.
