A FLOOD alert has gone out in the Wee County for this afternoon and evening.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has issued the alert for the central area, which takes in the Wee County and the Hillfoots, for Wednesday, June 17.
According to the agency, heavy and thundery showers may develop in the west of the area, but not all places will see them.
This may lead to flooding from surface water with the greatest risk over built-up areas and the transport network.
There could be flooding on low-lying land, at properties and roads while there may be a disruption to travel.
Localised flooding of land and roads is also possible should heavy showers occur.
There are two flood protection volunteer groups operating in the Hillfoots, follow the Menstrie Community Resilience Group and Tillicoultry, Devonside & Coalsnaughton Flood Group for local updates and information.
Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881 188, the Floodline quick dial number for the area is 23100.
