A PROBATIONARY teacher from the Wee County is being recognised at a national event.
Bronwyn Byrne completed her probation as a secondary religious, moral and philosophical studies teacher at Alloa Academy.
She has since been nominated for the General Teaching Council for Scotland's National Probationer Celebration.
The soon-to-be fully registered teacher has been singled out by Clackmannanshire Council to recognise her success during her time locally as well as for her hard work and dedication.
In the nomination, Alloa Academy's Scott McCracken said: "In addition to being a passionate advocate for her subject, RMPS, Bronwyn is committed to education in its widest sense.
"She is pupil centred and is fully committed to pupil leadership and promoting pupil voice.
"She has empowered pupils by leading the Mentors in Violence Prevention programme and the Mind Matters project which encourages young people to volunteer and provides them with the skills to support others.
"Bronwyn has a gift for teaching and is a joy to work with.
"Her mentor described Bronwyn as a 'ray of sunshine' and someone who has inspired her to try new things."
Bronwyn will become eligible to teach with full GTCS registration from August this year.
Ken Muir, chief executive at the General Teaching Council for Scotland, added: "I particularly wish to celebrate all this year's probationers, and their supporters, for their resilience in adapting to the challenges that Covid-19 has thrown their way and their commitment to ensuring a quality teaching and learning experience for children and young people."
