A CAMBUS man thought he might be hallucinating when spotting an unlikely creature on the road during a late night drive this week.

Finn O'Hagan came across a wallaby on the roads of Carron Valley this week and simply could not believe his eyes upon discovering the animal, native to Australia.

He filmed the discovery in a hilarious video to send to his mum and thought a wider audience might enjoy the funny exchange on Facebook as a break away from the current bleak news.

Armed with his best Australian accent, the local man is seen approaching the creature in a bid to encourage it closer.

And indeed, the video has been enjoyed by many since, garnering hundreds of likes, shares and comments in the process.

Finn explained to the Advertiser he had just come across a cat on the road before the encounter and initially thought the wallaby must be another feline adventurer late in the night.

However, the 20-year-old stopped the car for a closer look.

He added: “I thought I was hallucinating at first, I thought I was too tired.

“I couldn't believe what I was seeing to be honest.”

After his video started being shared far and wide, Finn learnt it is likely the wallaby escaped from a nearby farm.

Finn said: “The guy who owns the farm, he's got a few male wallabies and one of them keeps escaping, it likes to go for a little run.

“He's not found it yet, it was spotted again last night so it's still running about wild in the Carron Valley, eating grass.

“They eat grass so they can survive pretty well in the wild in Scotland.”
