A WEE COUNTY housebuilder has been commended for his work at a flagship awards ceremony.

Tullibody's David Banks was one of 140 building site managers – out of a field of 11,000 – to receive the Quality Award in the first round of NHBC's Pride in the Job Awards 2020.

The competition is run by the National House Building Council and is dedicated to honouring site managers who achieve the very highest standards in housebuilding.

And this award is particularly significant as it is the first of its kind to be won by the Scotland East Division since it was launched in August 2018.

David, who works for Bellway Homes Ltd, said: "It was a lovely surprise and I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to be recognised by the NHBC for my work and being selected for such a prestigious award.

"I am especially pleased and proud of the wider Bellway East Scotland team and supply chain who have supported me in achieving this fantastic and without whom this would not be possible".

Iain Allison, Bellway Homes' regional director, said: "In these extremely challenging times it's wonderful to get such good news and we are so proud of David who is a very talented and hard-working site manager.

"He sets a great example to all those who work with him and works tirelessly to delight our customers with the high quality of homes his team build."

Pride in the Job is the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry.

Judging for the awards is intensive with each site manager assessed across six areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.
