SOME facilities are set to re-open at Alloa Leisure Bowl next month.

The leisure centre has published its very own route map for re-opening following a Scottish Government announcement last week.

With confirmation that indoor leisure facilities can re-open from August 31, if Covid-19 guidance is fully implemented, Alloa Leisure Bowl is looking to restart in four stages.

All subject to change, the pay-as-you-go gym, fitness classes, the Vibro Gym, corporate memberships and direct debit memberships on request will open up on Monday, September 14.

The facilities will be operational between 9am and 9pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm at the weekend.

In stage two, with further dates to be confirmed, sunbeds, snooker and pool tables as well as a limited bar could re-open.

Indoor bowling could resume in stage three of Alloa Leisure Bowl's own route map.

The squash courts, sauna and Turkish bath are to come in stage four.

This stage would also see the re-opening of the swimming pool along with the Adopted Swimming Lesson Programme.

The leisure bowl explained that the pool is unable to re-open under current social distancing guidelines.

It is understood this is due to the changing rooms not meeting guidelines for social distancing.

The leisure bowl added this would be monitored and reviewed when guidelines change.

Meanwhile, outdoor sports facilities operated by Clackmannanshire Council at the Wee County's three academies have re-opened this week.

The council is working to re-open indoor facilities come August 31, including badminton, basketball and short tennis courts as well as football pitches.

There will be no changing facilities open, as per government guidelines, but the toilets will be available.

People can visit clacks.gov.uk/culture/indoorsports/ for more information and are being asked to book and pay online.
