AN ELDERLY Menstrie man had a mobile phone stolen from his home by a bogus workman he allowed in to use the toilet.
The incident took place on Castle Road at around 1.30pm on Friday, August 28.
Forth Valley Police Division said: “A male attended at the address and requested to use the toilet; the male claimed to work for a cleaning company and left a brochure for this company, named as Thompson Cleaning and Coating.
“Whilst within the property, the male stole a black Galaxy S8 mobile phone before stealing and cycling off on a distinctive motorised red PUCK bicycle, which has a fuel tank on the top of the frame behind the handle-bars.”
The man is described as white, about 5'8" tall, approx. 35 years old, medium build, with an Irish accent, wearing trousers, a white shirt and tie.
Anyone with information that would assist police with their investigation should call 101, quoting reference 3133 of August 28.
