Town centre streets to close in Alloa for street lighting upgrades

Mar Street will be closed down on Sunday, September 6, from 8am to 4pm from its junction with Marshill Roundabout to its junction with Burgh Mews.

According to a social media post by Clackmannanshire Council, Drysdale Street will also be closed during this time between the roundabout and Primrose Street.

A Traffic Regulation Order relating to Mar Street says the road will also be closed on Friday, September 11, between the same times.

The order said: “The emergency closure is to allow for the street lighting works on these sections and Scottish Power phase transfers and disconnections/reconnections.”

An emergency one way reversal order has also been made out for both days, relating to a section of Mar Street and Mill Street – which are normally one-way roads.

The order will affect Mar Street from its junction with Burgh Mews to its junction with Mill Street and toward the High Street from that point.

This is to allow residents and businesses access during the works.
