A CHARITY leader from the Wee County is next week set to chair a panel at a major virtual international meeting of business and government leaders.

Angela Watt – the founder and CEO of Resonate Together in Alloa – was given the exciting opportunity to chair a panel at the upcoming Horasis Extraordinary Meeting 2020.

As previously highlighted, the charity leader has been flying the flag for Clacks through a collaboration with Horasis, a global visions community seeking to create positive economic action.

The upcoming meeting will be held online on October 1 "to overcome the profound economic, political and social disruptions caused by Covid-19".

Angela will chair a panel session on Balancing Long- and Short-termism.

She said: "At grassroots, when faced with third generation unemployed in a multi-deprived community, routes to recovery take time.

"How do we balance the immediacy of financial reporting and investor return with the time to heal, believe and innovate our way forward?"

Angela has been connecting with each speaker on the panel, introducing them to contacts in Scotland.

They include Peter Armand, founder and CFO of RuGeeks in Russia, Felix von Schubert, executive chair at Infrontier in the UK and John Cook, chairman at Rock Lake Advisors in Switzerland.

Also, Lt General Sudhir Sharma, chair at Mitkat Advisory Services in India and Pamela Mar, executive VP at Fung Academy in Hong Kong.

The wider event aims to be a conceptual backbone for and an action platform to advance recovery from coronavirus.

Those gathering will envision novel business models, political co-operation and deep social cohesion and will look at implementation.

Organisers of the event added: "We are convinced that the world will not go back to a new normal using a simplistic resetting of legacy systems – extraordinary times demand an extraordinary transformation."

Angela reckons Resonate fits into this global vision perfectly, indeed, she has been working with Horasis founder and chairman Dr Frank-Jürgen Richter for more than a year.

That work has already resulted in a partnership with the launch of Horasis powered by Resonate and has seen the Clacks charity leader involved in international projects.

Angela added: "Creating a positive, trusting and kind environment for all, Resonate's focus is the holistic whole-system 'localisation' for each citizen, while positioned in a complex, interconnected global network.

"We construct inclusive environments for people to connect within themselves, to others and their location.

"Flexible interactive activities enable each individual to go beyond their own boundaries, learning together and self sustainability is one core aim as we endeavour to self-fund all our community activities."
