A TEENAGER has been hospitalised after a “serious assault” in Tullibody over the weekend.

Police told the Advertiser they were alerted to the incident in the early hours of Saturday, October 10.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 5am on Saturday, police received reports of a man having been seriously assaulted at a flat in Tullibody.

“Emergency services attended, and a 17-year-old male was taken to hospital.

“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.”

Following the incident, forensic teams were spotted in the Tron Court area on Saturday morning.

Tullibody, Cambus and Glenochil Community Council reported the team appeared to have completed their work in that area by 11.30am that day.

Local councillor George Matchett QPM said he was informed of a disturbance in the area, and made enquiries as to what happened.

He said: “I was contacted by several individuals that something was ongoing, and that Tron Court had essentially been cordoned off by police.

“I ascertained there had been a disturbance early morning, which involved an injury to a young man."

The councillor said he understands the injured teenager was assisted by a delivery driver and another individual working in the Tron Court area before emergency services arrived.

He added: “I sincerely hope police are able to tidy this up.

“I’m quite disturbed this kind of activity takes place in Tullibody.”
