PEOPLE in the Wee County are being encouraged to saddle up for a good cause this October holiday.

Alloa Rotary Club is taking forward its Tour de Clacks Challenge as part of a bid to end polio.

The event, which will see participants complete 20km around the Wee County in their own time, is to coincide with World Polio Day on October 24.

Those looking to take part can hop on their bikes any time from now until October 24, raising money through sponsorship for their chosen charities.

Alloa Rotary Club said: "This October holiday, how would you like to use your leisure time to raise money for your own local group or charity while at the same time helping Alloa Rotary to end polio in the world?

"Bonus: you get to know your own Wee County better by devising your own challenge, and you can do it any time from 9-24 October.

"The Tour de Clacks is our affectionate name for the wonderful cycle and walking paths that can be found around our Wee County.

"Our challenge has to comply with Covid-19 restrictions so, unlike our previous challenges, there will be no marshals, no barbecue and no fixed date for the event."

People can take on the challenge solo or in groups, with their own routes and at their own pace.
