MEDICAL practices in the Hillfoots have announced changes affecting locals due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Alva Medical Practice will temporarily provide services elsewhere to allow their premises to be deep cleaned, after some non-clinical staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The practice stressed there is “no wider risks to local patients or the community”.

And Tillicoultry Medical Practice has asked that only those with a prearranged appointment with a clinician attend their premises, due to “the rise in local positive Covid results”.

The full announcement from Alva Medical Practice, posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday, October 13, said: “A number of non-clinical staff based at Alva Medical Practice have tested positive for Covid-19 and their close contacts have been identified and are now self-isolating.

“There are no wider risks to local patients or the community however services will be provided elsewhere on a temporary basis from the afternoon of Tuesday, October 13, to allow a deep clean of the premises to be carried out, in line with national guidance.

“The practice is extremely grateful to the other Clackmannanshire practices who are helping us to continue to provide services at this difficult time.”

And Tillicoultry Medical Practice’s announcement, also posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday, said: “Due to the rise in local positive Covid results, can we please ask that patients do not come into the practice unless you have a previously arranged appointment with a clinician.

“We do appreciate that it is not always easy when the phone lines are very busy, but please be patient with us.

“Prescriptions will be sent directly to pharmacies, just let us know your preferred pharmacy and all Fit Notes will be posted out to patients.

“We are doing this to reduce risk to our patients and staff.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
