A WOMAN has denied a lengthy charge of domestic abuse against her former partner.

The 29-year-old tendered a plea of not guilty to the single charge at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, October 15.

It is claimed that she engaged in a course of behaviour which was abusive towards her former partner by:

• Repeatedly refusing to move out of his home in Dollar when requested

• Refusing to allow him to end their relationship

• Preventing him from sleeping elsewhere and forcing him to sleep in a bed with her

• Repeatedly damaging his property

• Attempting to let down the tyres of his car when he attempted to go out without her

• Attempting to prevent him from leaving his home and assaulting him by pushing him whereby he fell to the ground and then seizing him by the throat

• Repeatedly striking him on the head

• Following him to a friend's house and repeatedly threatening him

The offence is said to have been committed between May 1 and September 30 this year.

In court last week, solicitor Kelly Howe requested that her client be allowed to see the man as part of any bail conditions.

She added that the woman is pregnant with the complainer's child.

Sheriff Craig Harris granted the accused bail and allowed contact between both parties, but warned they could not discuss the case.

He also forbid the woman, who resides in Gifford, East Lothian, from attending at the man's home.

The trial will commence on January 20.
