LOVE Island star Laura Anderson has pledged her support to the Glasgow Times Toy Bank appeal.

The Scot, who moved to Glasgow earlier this year after a stint in London, has urged city residents to get behind the campaign to ensure all children wake up to a gift on December 25.

Laura, who made it to the final of the show's 2018 series with partner Paul Knops, has vowed to lend her support after a "difficult" year.

She said: “This has been a difficult year for most of us and, with Christmas just around the corner, it should be a well-deserved break for families around the country.

“Sadly, far too many are facing financial difficulties which is making the festive period stressful for a lot of mums and dads.

“That’s why I’m supporting the Glasgow Times Bank on Us campaign."

She added: "Now, more than ever, is a time for us all to come together and make sure every child wakes up to a present on Christmas.

“Please help out if you can and deliver a gift to your local drop off point.”

The star is the second contestant from the hit ITV2 show to back our plea.

Last month, winner Paige Turley, who was crowned champion alongside her boyfriend Finn Tapp earlier this year, praised the appeal.

She said: "Bank on Us sounds like such a fantastic campaign to help the families in Glasgow who are struggling to treat their little ones this Christmas.

“Please do get involved and donate at your nearest toy bank from December 4.”

The campaign follows on from our successful food bank appeal last year, which saw our readers help deliver parcels to struggling homes throughout the city.

Tomorrow a free donation bag, similar to last year's, will be included with every copy of the Glasgow Times.

The bag is to be filled with newly bought toys which can be dropped off with a local toy bank.

Alternatively, the bags can be delivered to our sponsors A1 Toys or Storage Vault.

Every bag taken to A1 Toys - which will be accepting donations from customers using their click and collect service until shops reopen next week - will have 20% value added by the retailer.

Once received, the gifts will be distributed to charities, schools and local groups who will deliver them to families and children in need of support this Christmas.

A complete list of where bags can be dropped off will be available in tomorrow's paper.
