AN ENTIRE year group at one of the Wee County’s academies has been ordered to self-isolate following a significant outbreak of coronavirus.
The whole of S2 at Alva Academy has been sent home this week after Public Health met with officials from the school.
It comes following a rising number of cases in Clackmannanshire, with the area being watched closely amid reports it could be moved into tier four restrictions.
A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council said: “As a significant number of S2 pupils in Alva Academy are currently self-isolating we have, in consultation with Public Health, advised that all young people in that year group should participate in remote learning until 17 December to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.”
