A singer has entertained care home residents after seeing a story in the Press.

Charlie better known as Mason Ross who is normally used to singing in pubs and clubs all over Central Scotland but used his services to spread some Christmas cheer for the residents of Headwell Care Home on Sunday afternoon.

Charlie was inspired after seeing a story in the Press earlier this month about his old friend Peter O'Sullivan who along with his neighbours on Blair Drive decorated the care home out of the kindness of their hearts.

The singer from Cardenden played non-stop for over two hours outside while the residents enjoyed the show in the comfort of the warmth inside.

The 54-year-old, who is a delivery driver, said: "It was nice to see the community spirit at Headwell in the paper. Care homes are being so affected by what's going on and they're not getting to see anyone.

"I've been in the entertainment industry for a long time and it's my philosophy to give something back.

"I've been doing some online gigs with friends but I got in touch with Peter to see if there was anything I could do.

"So it was a wee Christmas treat for the residents - they absolutely loved it!

"The carers had them all up dancing - it was a great afternoon."

Peter O'Sullivan added: "To say that they enjoyed it was an understatement they and all the staff enjoyed it and am sure some of the songs brought back many happy memories.

"This was all thanks to the Dunfermline Press."
