A TULLIBODY woman and her bandmates are aiming to throw Little Mix fans a lifeline with online workshops through lockdown.

Meghan Walker is determined to host dance classes to bring a little joy and promote better physical and mental health.

The Clacks woman has been a member of Little Fix – said to be the UK's foremost Little Mix tribute band – for a number of years, having played all over the country and appeared on national TV.

During the previous lockdown, the band – also featuring Zaina Nawanga, Stephanie Barclay and Mia Ivanova – were able to hold some digital events that proved popular with fans.

This time, the workshops will take place on Zoom where students will go through a fun and energetic one-hour class, with Little Mix inspired games, singing and some official choreography.

Megan told the Advertiser: "Last summer, during the first lockdown, we used to do it live on Facebook and it was really popular.

"Since we put it on Facebook and Twitter, we've had a few responses already."

Not only will the Zoom workshops offer fans a chance to interact with the band, it will give parents some help to keep their kids entertained.

Meghan added: "With the schools being closed, it's a really good opportunity to stay active and it takes the pressure off the parents trying to keep them active.

"It's good for their mental health too: it's fun, it's not too serious – they can take it as seriously as they want, if they're little divas who want to take it serious then we'll support that – but if they're just here for fun, it's great and it's good to experience something new."

Despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic causing havoc to the band's schedule, they've still been active.

They recently released the video for the song Sweet Melody on January 1, which already has more than 62,000 views on YouTube.

The girls have also been active on social media platform TikTok, where they've been posting their dance routines to a great reception.

During the first lockdown, the band were performing at garden and street parties, but with the cold weather coming, they've had to get creative.

Meghan continued: "Nobody wants to be standing outside in the cold – especially us in the costumes!"

The girls are hoping to do a summer school in both Glasgow and Alloa once the lockdown is lifted, but for now they're trying to explore new opportunities.

The Tullibody woman added: "If live music isn't an option we'd still like to keep active and give as much back to everybody who's supported us over the years."
